Our Training Facility
Welcome to our premier working-dog training facility, located in the peaceful landscape of southeastern Wisconsin. Set on 40 private acres, our property is designed specifically for the development of high-performance narcotics detection and scent-detection K9s.
Our 5,000-square-foot indoor training building houses advanced scent-work setups, controlled-odor environments, and realistic search scenarios that prepare dogs for deployment in schools, businesses, housing complexes, and corporate facilities. From lockers and offices to vehicles and large open areas, every search environment is purpose-built to mirror the real-world conditions your facility requires.
What makes our program truly unique is the way our dogs live. Instead of a traditional kennel, every working dog stays in a home-style living environment, helping them develop stability, confidence, and the emotional balance needed to perform precise detection work. Dogs train Monday through Saturday in a structured “school day” format, with Sundays reserved for rest and mental recovery.
Because we are committed to producing only the highest-quality detection dogs and providing exceptional individualized training, we intentionally limit the number of dogs we accept each year. This ensures that each K9 receives the focused time, environmental exposure, and hands-on development required to become a reliable, confident working partner.

Kristi is the head trainer and owner of My Personal K9, bringing more than 30 years of elite dog-training experience to every client she works with. She began competing with dogs at just eight years old through 4-H, and since then has earned awards and titles across the country and around the world.
Her expertise spans multiple disciplines, with specialized focus in narcotics and scent-detection K9s, service and therapy dog training, and advanced personal-protection sports, where she competes internationally with her own dogs.
If you’ve ever watched televised dog shows, there’s a good chance you’ve already seen her in the ring — Kristi is widely recognized in the competitive dog world for her handling skills, precision, and professionalism.
Beyond competitive work, Kristi enjoys bird-dog hunting, shed-antler hunting, and training detection dogs for unique tasks such as bed-bug identification. Her lifelong background, hands-on expertise, and calm, confident training approach make her one of the most trusted trainers in the industry.
